Find time with Robert:
Robert brings a strong foundation in sports medicine and athlete care to his work as a Physical Therapist Assistant. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine from Westfield State University in 2024 and completed his Associate degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from North Shore Community College in 2025. With his PTA license and a lifelong involvement in competitive athletics, Robert is especially well attuned to the needs of active individuals working to recover, rebuild, and return to the activities they love.
Robert’s background in soccer, basketball, lacrosse, and more recently club lacrosse gives him firsthand appreciation for the physical demands of field and court sports. His experience as an athlete helps shape the way he works with patients, with a practical understanding of the movement patterns, repetitive stresses, and injury risks common in fast-paced, high-impact sports. He is committed to helping patients improve strength, mobility, stability, and confidence as they work toward a safe return to play.
Field and Court Sport Injuries
Robert has a strong interest in treating injuries commonly seen in field and court athletes. Sports such as soccer, lacrosse, and basketball place significant demands on the lower body, core, and joints through sprinting, cutting, pivoting, jumping, and contact. These demands often lead to recurring injury patterns that require thoughtful rehabilitation and progressive recovery.
- Sprains and Strains: Athletes in field sports frequently deal with ankle sprains, muscle strains, and ligament injuries due to rapid direction changes and explosive movement. Robert helps patients build back strength, balance, and confidence after these common setbacks.
- Overuse Injuries: Repetitive running, training, and sport-specific loading can contribute to tendon irritation, shin pain, knee issues, and other overuse conditions. Robert understands the importance of addressing these problems early and helping patients return with better movement patterns and resilience.
- Knee and Ankle Injuries: Soccer, lacrosse, and basketball athletes often place heavy demands on the knees and ankles, making these areas especially vulnerable. Robert works with patients on mobility, stability, strength, and functional progression to support recovery and performance.
- Hip and Core Weakness: Field sports rely heavily on rotational control, balance, and lower-body coordination. Weakness or imbalance in the hips and core can contribute to pain and inefficient movement. Robert incorporates targeted strengthening and control work to support long-term recovery.
- Shoulder and Upper Body Injuries: While lower-body injuries are common in field sports, athletes in lacrosse and basketball also place important demands on the shoulders, upper back, and arms. Robert helps patients improve strength, coordination, and function for return to sport and activity.
Beyond Competitive Sports
While Robert has a natural connection to traditional field and court sports, his approach applies broadly to active patients of many backgrounds. Whether someone is recovering from a sports injury, returning to exercise, or simply trying to move better in everyday life, he values individualized treatment that meets each person where they are.
